If you're an actor then you know that one of the most important thing to having a successful career is to have a good agent. There are way too many agents these days that fill up their databases, and bring on a huge amount of actors as clients and never get them any work. It's therefore very important to pick the right agent. You want to find someone that believes in your talent, has enough contacts to keep work coming in and will actually help grow your career. In this blog we have put together a list of 200+ London-based acting agencies so that you can look through them and contact the ones that you think might be a good fit.
First you need to decide what kind of agent you want as different agents have different specialities. For example some will specialise in commercial work, some in modelling, some in TV and some in film. You want to pick the agent that will have the most contacts and therefore available work for the kind of roles that you're interested in.
Next you want to look at the website, their history, what kind of productions they worked on and look at their reviews (both on their website and on independent websites). This will give you a pretty good idea if this agent is reliable and useful.
Nearly all agents (or at least the good ones) will require you to submit headshots and a showreel. If you are new to the industry you can use a showreel production company to create a showreel for you. If you would like to explore that option we have put together a list of 50+ London-showreel companies here.
If you are interested in all film related work and not just acting work you can also take a look at our list of film job sites here, London film recruitment companies here or a blog with a list of London film production companies here.
